VA ASLA 2009 Student and Professional Awards - Call for Entries

Every two years, the VA ASLA Professional Awards honor the best in landscape architecture throughout Virginia,  while the VA ASLA Student Awards give us a glimpse into the future of the profession.

The 2009 VA ASLA Professional and Student Awards Program is open to individuals or groups practicing landscape architecture in the Commonwealth of Virginia and students currently enrolled in, and 2008 graduates of, a landscpae architecture degree program in the Commonwealth of Virginia. 

The winners of the 2009 VA ASLA Awards will be showcased in a full color printed awards booklet that will be published by VA ASLA.  Award recipients, their clients, and advisors will be honored at the Awards Dinner following our 2009 Spring Conference on April 17th.  

Submissions must be received by Friday, January 30, 2009

National Park Service and ASLA Form Partnership 

In October 2000, the National Park Service Rivers, Trails and Conservation Assistance Program (RTCA) and the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) formalized, through a Memorandum of Understanding, a partnership to help communities across the nation "plan, design, and manage their natural, cultural, and recreation resources."

VA ASLA 2008 Spring Conference A Success!

On Friday, April 4th the VA ASLA held a very successful spring conference in Richmond with over 80 participants.  Focusing on "Regenerative Design" the day-long conference included 2 learning tracts, a multitude of exhibitors, and afternoon field trips on the James River Canal development and Maymont Gardens.
