Governor's Commission on Government Reform and Restructuring Recommends Deregulation of Landscape Architects

Governor McDonnell's Commission on Government Reform and Restructuring has published its report to the governor and it includes a recommendation to deregulate the profession of landscape architecture. The report is available for downloading via the link above. The recommendation, item #6, can be found on page 17 of 24.

The deregulation of landscape architects will have catastrophic consequences for all landscape architects and designers seeking licensure; public health, safety and welfare will be compromised; and the University of Virginia and Virginia Tech landscape architecture programs will be negatively impacted.

Roanoke River Basin Association-Upper Reach is issuing a "Request for Qualifications" for Design/Build Services to implement its Blueways Master Plan a) capital projects, b) website development and c) metrics program in Southside Virginia. Submittal deadline is Dec. 1, 2011.

Delegate Kory (38th) Protests Governor's Plans to withdraw from Interstate Commission on the Potomac River Basin

OPEN LETTER TO GOVERNOR MCDONNELL: DON'T ENDANGER OUR WATER SUPPLY!

Dear Governor:

I urge you to cancel your short-sighted plans to withdraw Virginia from the Interstate Commission on the Potomac River Basin (ICPRB). Virginia has benefitted greatly from its 70 year membership in this Commission. I seriously doubt that our Commonwealth would have accomplished on its own what it has achieved as a Commission member--activities ranging from pollution monitoring to shad restoration.
