This three-day course (one day per week for three weeks) has been designed to assist tree care professionals and other professionals who wish to become Certified Arborists. It has been developed to help prepare individuals for the certified arborist exam administered by the International Society of Arboriculture. The course content is consistent with the Arborist Certification Study Guide (2010 edition) and the domains of the exam. This course is beneficial to the following people:
Experienced tree care professionals taking the exam for the first time. Note: Exam eligibilty requirements: 3 yrs experience in arboriculture or a 2yr degree in arboriculture and 2 yrs of experience or a 4 yr degree in a related field and 1 year practical experience.
Other professionals wishing to become a Certified Arborist.
Anyone re-taking the certified arborist exam.
Those wishing to expand their knowledge and acquire C.E.U. credits toward maintaining their certification.
Individuals preparing for the MD DNR Licensed Tree Expert exam.
Day one, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Tree Biology, Soil Science, Water Management, Tree Nutrition and Fertilization and Tree Identification
Day two, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Tree Selection, Installation & Establishment, Pruning, Tree Support, Lightning Protection and Trees and Construction
Day three, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Diagnosis and Plant Disorders, Plant Health Care, Tree Assessment and Risk Management, Tree Worker Safety, Climbing and Working in Treest and Urban Forestry
