License Reminder from DPOR

This is a reminder from the Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation that all Certified
Landscape Architects in good standing on June 30, 2010 will be issued a license on July 1, 2010.  How
will this affect you?

1. You will be issued a license and wall certificate at no charge.  Please note that if you have a June
expiration date and renew prior to June 30, 2010, you will automatically receive your license
and wall certificate.  If you have not renewed by June 30, 2010, you will not receive your license
and wall certificate until your renewal is received by the Board.

2. Your landscape architect certification will no longer be valid.

3. Your license expiration date will remain the same.

4. Beginning with July, 2010 license renewals, you will be attesting that you obtained 16 hours of
continuing education.

5. Beginning with July, 2010 license renewals, you will be attesting that you obtained 16 hours of
continuing education.

6. You will be required to obtain a new seal that indicates you are licensed (see 18 VAC10-20-760 for
details).

IMPORTANT- If your certificate is not valid on June 30, 2010, then you will not be grandfathered with a
landscape architect license and will be required to submit a new application and fee for licensure.  If your
certificate expires prior to June 30, 2010, be sure to renew it to ensure that it is grandfathered into
licensure.  For further questions, please contact the Board at (804) 367-8506
