Billy D. Almond Named New Member of ASLA Council of Fellows

Virginia Beach, VA, July 6, 2010 - William (Billy) D. Almond, Vice President and Principal of WPL Site Design in Virginia Beach, VA was inducted into the 2010 ASLA Council of Fellows this month. Each year the American Society of Landscape Architects inducts a new Class of Fellows. Election is based on professional excellence and outstanding accomplishments.

Fellows are selected based on their contributions in one of four categories; Works, Leadership/Management, Knowledge and service. Billy has over 30 years experience in the field of landscape architecture and site design with a wide range of residential, commercial, and institutional projects. His recent involvement and leadership in the initiative to require licensure to practice landscape architecture in the Commonwealth of Virginia proved invaluable as the effort was well received by the Licensing Board. Landscape architects are now required to be licensed in order to practice in Virginia.
