Member Comments Sought on Proposed Change to DuesLike your own company, or your own family, VA-ASLA works hard to maintain a balanced budget, keep expenses in check and meet the needs and expectations of our members by providing programs and services of the highest quality possible. For the past few years we have managed to maintain a reasonable and balanced budget, totaling less than $30,000 in revenue and expenses annually, without increasing dues. However this year we simply cannot meet our ever-increasing expenses and continue to maintain a high caliber of programming and services without increasing revenue. (Please note, this is not due to the licensure efforts. All funds to support licensure are voluntary donations separate from your annual dues.) Given this, and the fact that our dues rates have remained unchanged for a number of years, the VA-ASLA board is recommending changes to our dues structure as follows:

Per the Chapter Bylaws, Chapter members have forty-five (45) days to comment on this proposed change. At the close of the comment period, the Executive Committee shall vote on the proposal. An affirmative vote by three-fourths (3/4) of the entire voting membership of the Executive Committee shall be required for adoption. |
