Help Raise Awareness of LA's

The next ASLA Public Awareness event is the re-dedication of an iconic landscape. This is an opportunity to help the public, especially public officials, better
understand what landscape architects do. This campaign works hand-in-hand with the Chapter's advocacy effects.

National ASLA is aiming for late August to early September for the events to occur.  The first step is selecting a local iconic site. In Richmond we have chosen Libby Hill. The view from Libby Hill is the iconic view for which Richmond was named, bearing a striking resemblance to Richmond, England on the Thames. This view is currently endangered by development. Rob McLeod and Jessica Mauzy are choosing a site in the Charlottesville area.

If anyone has a site they would like to honor in this way in another part of the state, please let me know as soon as possible. We also need lots of volunteers
to help make these events a success. Please look over the iconic sites re-dedication guidelines

Your help, no matter what form it takes, will be greatly appreciated and will lessen the work of everyone in the promotion and awareness of our profession.
