VA ASLA Working Committees Seeking Members . . . .

We are reorganizing the VA ASLA Committees to include the following: Event, Education, Visibility, Sponsorship, Member Services, Awards, and Standing Committees.  We are looking for members to participate on all the above committees except the Event Committee.  We are also looking for one member to coordinate with all four standing committees and to provide an update to Excomm at the monthly meetings on any action taken by any of the standing committees.  The standing committees required by ASLA include:

• Nomination- facilitate the election one time per year
• Teller- verify election results
• Audit- review books at end of the year
• Constitution and Bylaws- coordinate with this committee and report on their statusat

monthly Excomm meetingsVA ASLA has formed committees to carve out new ways of offering increased benefits to your VA ASLA membership.  Your VA ASLA strategic plan aims to help our members achieve their goals and promote their career success in 2010.

We are asking you to consider volunteering a small amount of your time to invest in the profession and your career.  Your involvement can be carved out to a minimum as others are also getting involved.  This means our chapter can grow and provide more benefits for its' members but still respect your time.  Please volunteer and we will work with you and the time you can devote.  These opportunities are good for your resume, making connections, working with great people,  and enhancing your career. 

Please contact Teri Commander for details of each committee and to discuss how you can get involved.  This is a great way of enhancing your resume with committee work or to hold a position on the VA ASLA Board (Executive Committee).
