This coalition request is supported by 14 national and regional organizations and 150+ local businesses and NGOs from across the country. We are encouraging our local networks to make legislators aware of the value of this program, and the damage that the President's proposed FY 2008 budget would cause.

The Forest Service has an important role to play in cities, not just on federal lands. As the premier forest research institution, the Forest Service helps cities understand and better manage urban natural resources. The U&CF program works with States to ensure that research knowledge is transferred and incorporated into practice at the local level. It is a simple, solid TA delivery system worth preserving, and growing, to meet our nation's urban resource management needs.
