Northern Virginia-Based Firm Promotes Four to Senior Positions

Vienna, VA (February 1, 2008) - Lewis Scully Gionet, a Vienna, Va.-based planning and landscape architecture firm, has announced the promotions of four of its senior professionals.  Steve Choi, ASLA, and Brian Jacobson, ASLA, have been promoted to senior associateMolly Graves, ASLA, has been promoted to associate, and Rick Sefick, ASLA, has been promoted to project manager.

 

Steve Choi, ASLA, is a landscape architect with extensive design experience on projects throughout the U.S. and overseas.  For the past five years, he has been managing the firm's work at Potomac Yard, a major new mixed-use development in Arlington, Va.  Projects at Potomac Yard include the Renaissance and Residence Inn Hotels which will feature a green roof; the major urban green spaces for National Gateway; and the Eclipse.  Choi holds a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona; and a Master of Landscape Architecture from Cornell University.  He is a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects.

Brian Jacobson, ASLA, has several years of experience in project management, with a focus on construction documentation and administration of large, multidisciplinary projects.  Some of his recently constructed projects include Midtown Reston in Reston, Va.; and three projects in Arlington:  Metropolitan Park, The Hawthorn, and Monroe Street Condominiums.  Jacobson, a registered landscape architect, is also part of the management team overseeing Lewis Scully Gionet's work on several national cemeteries, under an open-end contract with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.  He holds a Bachelor of Science in Horticultural Sciences and a Master of Landscape Architecture, both from the University of Florida.  Jacobson is a member of the American Society of Landscape Architecture.

Molly Graves, ASLA, is an experienced landscape architect and project manager with a diverse portfolio.  Her recent work includes serving as project manager for the renovation of Greenbrier Park in Arlington, which has received community acclaim for its successful revitalization effort.  A registered landscape architect, she is currently overseeing the first phase of design for Arlington County's Long Bridge Park, which will include an aquatic center and two synthetic turf recreational fields.  Graves is a graduate of the University of Virginia, and holds a Bachelor of Science with Distinction in Applied Mathematics and a Master of Landscape Architecture.  She is also a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects.

Rick Sefick, ASLA is a landscape architect with experience on a broad range of projects in the Washington metropolitan area.  He is currently serving as project manager for Lakeview at University Center, a mixed-use office park in Loudoun County, Va.; buildings five and six at Trinity Centre in Centreville, Va.; and the retail portion of Arcola Center in Loudoun County.  Sefick holds a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from Pennsylvania State University.  He is a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects.
