The Hampton Roads Green Building Council is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council serving the Greater Hampton Roads area. Our vision is one of a transformed Hampton Roads in which the principles of sustainable planning, design, construction and operations are accepted, normal and achieved for the benefit of the public and the environment.
HRGBC seeks to promote sustainable building practices in our region through educational programming and endorsement of the Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEEDTM) green building rating system. Conservation Landscaping Events
Interested in learning more about restoring or improving habitats for wildlife and helping water quality, too? Visit the CCLC website) for information about the upcoming Conservation Landscaping conference, an informative venue serving The mid-Atlantic states. A wide range of topics are being planned and tentatively may include the following: raingardens vs. bioretention ponds; alternatives to traditional plantings and designing with Native plants; IPM and beneficial insects; tree planting and soils for urban forestry; installing living shorelines...and much more! Land managers, designers, local planners, landscapers and others with a stake in conserving Virginia's natural resources are encouraged to attend.
